How does the Germ Terminator work?

The Germ Terminator uses an Australian patented two-step process using both steam and dry heat. You just add water to the unit and the power of steam kills greater than 99.9999% of all germs on your toothbrush. Adding water automatically turns on the Steam Cycle (red light). As soon as the steam cycle has been completed, the Dry Heat Cycle (blue light) is activated automatically, and will run until your toothbrush is completely dry. The dry-heat chamber stores your toothbrush in a completely germ-free environment until your next brushing.

How do I sanitize my toothbrush
with the Germ Terminator?

The Germ Terminator is simple to use. You can sanitize your toothbrush in seconds by following these steps. After brushing your teeth, place your toothbrush(es) in the basket and replace the cover, then, just add water. The Germ Terminator automatically does the rest by itself. Your toothbrush is being sanitized when you see and hear the steam filling the chamber. Your toothbrush is stored in the Germ Terminator's germ-free chamber until your next brushing.

How long does it take for
my toothbrush to be sanitized?

After adding water to your Germ Terminator, your toothbrush will be completely sanitized in 10 seconds. The Steam Cycle takes about 10 minutes to complete, and to keep your toothbrush germ-free, the Dry Heat Cycle will run until your next brushing.

What types of toothbrushes can be used in the Germ Terminator?

In general, the Germ Terminator works with nearly all name brand toothbrushes. This includes manual, electric, and Sonicare toothbrushes (with removable toothbrush heads). We do not recommend that it be used with clear handled toothbrushes or mechanical battery operated toothbrushes that do not have a removable head.

Does it really work?

Three major independent laboratories were unable to detect even a single germ in any test. Each test involved contaminating toothbrushes with more than one million colony-forming units of germs per toothbrush. The Germ Terminator completely killed: HIV, Herpes, Hepatitis, The Cold Virus, The Flu Virus, Salmonella, Listeria, E. Coli, Candida, Gingivalis, Staphyloccocus, and Meningitis to name a few. The independent laboratories tested at 30 minutes, 4 hours and 12 hours. All tests showed complete inactivation of all germs.

Do you recommend putting toothbrushes in bristles up or bristles down in the Germ Terminator?

Because of mineral deposits in water, we strongly recommend placing your toothbrush in the Germ Terminator with the bristles up. Either way, the Germ Terminator kills 99.9999% of all toothbrush germs!

How many toothbrushes will the
Germ Terminator sanitize and store
at the same time?

The Germ Terminator will sanitize up to three toothbrushes at the same time.

How big is the Germ Terminator?

The Germ Terminator’s sleek design is small enough to fit comfortably on your bathroom shelf. It’s base is approximately 9 cm x 12.5 cm and it stands about 29 cm in height.

How hot does it get?

The temperature inside the Germ Terminator gets hot enough to boil water – 100 C (212 F) while in steam mode, about 10 minutes. The outside of the unit stays at a constant, warm temperature while it is plugged in.

Does it use electricity or batteries?

The Germ Terminator uses standard-voltage electricity, 220-240 volts, 50/60 Hz: 100 Watts at Steam Mode, 13 Watts at Dry Mode. It always stays on to keep your toothbrush(es) germ free all the time!
